Identity Theft
My last assignment was to write an essay that was about
identity theft. The essay was 1 page long and it talked about identity theft
and what identity theft was. It also talked about how to protect yourself. If
you don't want to read the whole essay, I will give you a quick rundown.
Identity theft affect people all over the world. Here in the U.S it happens
often. Around 9 million people have their identity stolen a year. Now, what is
identity theft? Identity theft is when someone steals your personal information
and uses it without your permission to sell your information or to take your
money. Make sure you destroy all personal documents after use and to never
click links that you are unsure of. These could lead you to unsafe web pages
that install malware onto your computer. Never go to unsafe websites. You
should also keep your computer updated to protect your computer from viruses.
If your identity gets stolen you should freeze all of your bank accounts and
cards. You should also report that your identity has been stolen. These are
some things that I talked about in my essay. If you want the whole essay I will
put the link down below. I hope you learned something to protect yourself from
identity thieves.
